We tried to keep it a secret for as long as humanly possible, but we are bursting at the seams with excitement to share our big news with whoopie pie lovers everywhere!  So here it is... We are joining forces with two other local Maine businesses to open the first ever coffee bar and whoopie pie shop all rolled up in one!  That's right, we've outgrown our beloved shared kitchen space at Fork Food Lab in Portland, Maine, and will be moving into our new diggs sometime early this year. After tasting our sweet treats, we know that our customers and fans may often wonder what it's like behind the scenes at a whoopie pie company.  So we’d like to give you a little insight into what happens in a regular business day at Cape Whoopies.  The morning begins as head whoopette and Cape Whoopies’ owner, Marcia, arrives at the industrial kitchen and takes a quick survey of the sparkling clean space, reviewing each of the priorities for the day and deciding where each work station will need to be.  Her team of whoopettes (with the occasional whoopie dude) are next...

You know when things are good you just want to shout it from the roof tops??  Well, our whoopie pie business has been growing, everything is going well and we are making our way to scale up!  Who knows, maybe one day soon we'll be in a coffee shop near you, you never know!  In an effort to do our best, and to make sure that you are getting our best, we are moving to a food incubator.  What the heck is a food incubator, you ask???  Well, some totally hip, amazingly cool MBA types started a kickstarter to build...

It's taken longer than we thought to make up our minds, but finally, and after much discussion....we have a name for our huge new whoopie pie mixer!  Her name is, drum roll, please, BIG BERTHA!  She's big, she's a brute, she jumps in with gusto and does her job, she just needed a big giant name to match her abilities!  So, happily we're calling her BIG BERTHA and we plan to make as many whoopie pies as we possibly can, with her!   She has a new friend, too...you'll love him, as well!  He's all about keeping our cakes chilled...
