If you're near Portland, Maine this Saturday, January 20th, and have a hankering for a whoopie pie, come check the third annual "Out On Ice" event at The Rink at Thompson's Point! The event supports GLSEN-Southern Maine and EqualityMaine's programs creating safer schools for LGBT youth in Southern Maine. In addition to ice skating, music, DJs and dancing, the event will feature drag performances, food trucks, a fire pit, warming hut with a cash bar (for ages 21+), and gourmet whoopie pies by Cape Whoopies! We pride ourselves on making custom gifts for our most special friends in the local community, so you'll be able to try ANGEL KISS (vanilla cakes with Frangelico cream), made just for this very special occasion. You'll also find two of our best-selling flavors: MAINE-IAC (the classic, chocolate cakes with vanilla filling) and BROMANCE (chocolate chip cakes with vanilla filling).
The event will be hosted by Blake and Eva from the Morning Show on Coast 93.1, and will hold 2 sessions. Session 1 will be held from 5:30-7:30pm (GSTA students, youth, families) and Session 2 will be from 8-10pm (community members); but both sessions are open to anyone who would like to attend and all ages are welcome. DJ Foxy and DJ Disco Dungeon will be spinning the tunes.
